I should have been more explicit. Schroeder knows that the Dems don't want to have to vote on it before the election. To have to vote before, and have the war start after, is the worst of both worlds for the Dems politically.

It is interesting that most of the debate in the country, and on this thread, up to now, has been on whether Saddam had a hand in 9/11. The debate now seems to be shifting to the UN violations by Iraq.

I think the Republicans can force a congressional vote before November. I expect the UN to have to put up or shut up by then. I do know that you want to fight over there in the winter. I still think that this year is in the cards.
