Actually, there are plenty of primitive societies that are solicitous to their old and injured, so I am not sure that is it. I suspect that it is the competitive impulse not yet under adequate rational and social control, a crude demonstration of superiority, that some children are more prone to if they feel they have something to prove.......

That's an excellent point. There are a lot of behaviors that were appropriate thousands of years ago that no long are -- some we have generally learned to discard; others we're still working on.

Don't you love the way those people from the censored threads come bopping over here when they want to attack somebody, then disappear into their protected enclaves to refresh their stores of bile and hatred? And to think of dredging up a post from a year and a half ago. Just shows how much people obsess over your every post. But I guess some people have nothing better to do with their lives than to attack other people. Sad, but there it is. I do, though, remember that particular poster boasting of how she loved flame wars, and enjoyed berating people. So not surprising out of here. Personally, I'm glad we have the courage to post on an open thread where we show our belief in free speech by decrying censorship. Shows a degree of maturity and integrity lacking in many others.
