Loral is in quite a pickle. Bernard Schwartz continues to baffle all comers. What is going on? That's the million (or should I say) mulit-billion dollar question. I find it curious how Mr. Schwartz continues to stay on at Loral. In light of the current status of both Loral and Globalstar, Bernard might find retirement a much more relaxing option. But no, he stays on and fights the good fight. All the negative commentary on Bernard continues. There is no stopping it. But it is my contention that Bernard is attempting to do right by existing shareholders. It is what it is and we will know one way or another very shortly. Loral is a grand empire of sorts, and certainly of worth. Will the exiled prince return to the royal family? Stay tuned for another exiting episode of "Life...Loral Style".
Go get em Bernard!

Sincerely,

Dan Leniczek

My contacts are still 99% certain SSL will get the award, but the announcement could get pushed out as far as next January.

I am hearing a rumor that BA has sweetened the pot to pull the Measat award away from LOR. The story goes that BA is offering the Malaysian government F16's through General Dynamics if BA gets awarded Measat.
