W may have had screens, the point is that I never caught his watching any of them.

I agree that in his first days as president he was kind of pitiful. But not if you remember Powell's first address, or Rumsfeld's : theirs were appalling.

The all learned, fast... Let Allah be thanked, as would Saddam say.

But he has gone from "Terrible" to "Watchable". I could not stand to watch him a year ago. Had to watch excerpts or read his speeches later.

Really? I thought Bush's convention speech edged out Gore's in 2000, and I was supporting Gore at the time. I thought Bush could do ok at giving a set speech (though even here, he is improving); it was his ex tempore remarks that were incoherent. He seems to have a particularly bad case of the Bush family dysphasia (Poppy said some very peculiar utterances in his time too).
