"Hammer delay could be due to going from semi-depleted to fully depleted SOI"

Doubt it. Two reasons. 1) They would have had to've started working on that one a while back. 2) There are now two suppliers for partially-depleted SOI wafers, so costs should come down soon. AFAIK, there are no suppliers of fully depleted SOI wafers.

A one quarter slip is not going to be a major process change. It's more along the lines of tweaking some of the metal layers.

cj knows more about SOI than I, I'd have to agree that fixing some metal layers seems more likely to me than major process changes.

On the ad campaign, can an advertising guy comment on whether these things are so set in stone that they can't be postponed?

Doesn't postponement make sense, even for this so-called "image" advertising? I'm not a big fan of image advertising, as opposed to product advertising.
