#1 is a possibility, and the onus is now on Saddam to avoid it. #2 is IMPOSSIBLE. Iraq is not even close to being Stalinist Russia in July, 1941. In that miserable era, and miserable place, they cheered the Wehrmacht as liberators-then a month under the idiot Nazis sent them all into the marshes to become partisans for the next 3 years. #3 is why the discussion is on the table at all.
