I lived and worked in LA from '58 to '01, and the air now is not bad, the car emission reduction has really worked. They can go to all electric cars, and it still will not be much cleaner than it is now.

You have to remember that LA is a basin with an almost permanent "Stationary High" over it. The first Spanish that showed up there recorded the smoke from campfires made the air bad.

Much of the acid rain that drops on Germany emanates from Britain. Norway's problem with acid rain definitely starts in Britain.

The East coast USA has lots of problems with pollution generated in the USA, fortunately the great gas scrubber, the Atlantic Ocean, cleans it before it arrives here :-)

I think it's the USA governments attitude to pollution problems that causes the ire
