The options expensing crowd just may have to move on from technology. As an engineering manager I doubt I can build anything without options incentives, imo this compensation approach has made the difference between the 80s when you had to beg people to "buy american" vs. the leading edge stuff we build today. And imo options are already completely reflected in the fully diluted EPS. Cash isn't the same animal, it doesn't do anything for idea retention. People forget- Japan builds computers too you know, we couldn't compete with them in the automotive arena... what happened??
