I would.

The loss of faith that a government is fair and governed by laws, not by men, is far more damaging to the nation than any terrorist attack.

So much of our success as a nation depends on the belief that the law is fair. Of course we know that it isn't in fact, but there has to be a commitment to that concept.

I could never vote for a governor who would say "if my kid gets in trouble, I will use my special powers as governor to make sure they get special treatment and don't suffer the same treatment I will insist that your kid suffers if he does the same thing my kid did."

I would not support a person for governor who would do that.

That's part of the deal. All public officials are supposed to put country ahead of family if necessary. It's called "duty." I really don't think you'd want it any other way.
