I am a Molson Canadian so live in a gilded country. The TSE 300 is the world's largest richest resource index. 11% of Canadian used to work in mines, metals and related industry. Now of course, 11% of Canadians are homeless graphic artists or paint park benches.

Belief it or not, SI got much of its subscriber base and posting volume out of Gold Mining and Natural Resources area which was really the Bre-x, Diamet thread :) The Canadian VSE promotional/scam crowd drove SI to its height of popularity. After mining died in Canada in 1997, SI had peaked.
