I make no recommendations by my postings as I am always sure to note that it is my opinion. However, from my standpoint, there is a very big problem that Sun Microsystems has. Namely, their business model hasn't worked. Why did it work has more to do with the "tulip craze" than anything else (dot.com etc.) I think they make great products, except their software hasn't paid off for them. They are "johnny-come-latelies) to the storage industry and they have a questionable approach to the low end with their LINUX offering. I think that they can survive if they get much smaller (head count) and then re-evaluate the profitability of their business units, and get out of the un-profitable units.
