A friend just called to say she'd just heard on the news that a med she couldn't remember the name of but is already in use to treat epilepsy has been found to be an effective treatment for migraines. An announcement is expected today. She said they'd found that susceptibility to migraines is a brain thing in a way similar to epilepsy, which is why this works.

Of course there is always the side effects question to balance against the effectiveness one.
