Bacchus 2, I just picked up 1500 shares. Not a ton, but all I want to put on the line these days. My stop is @ $5.25 - I don't want to lose much money on this thing. (if it goes that way)

Good luck,

Small Time

p.s. - I didn't think AMD and the economy would come to this. I sold 1,500 shares a couple years ago and put it down on a house. Now its worth a little more than a down payment on a car.

Gottfried, “And shaking…” Well since there is only 7 days left in the current quarter, I wonder if AMD will have one of their “Surprise Me” earning announcements soon? Of course they may be waiting to about two days before the regular scheduled earnings announcement for a really big “Surprise Me”. You never know about AMD surprises! Me, I get surprised a lot by AMD earning announcements. It is just absolutely amazing to see AMD build deep relationships with their investors freeing them from their hard earned cash.

Hi, Re <<Just bought at $6,03. I'm now loaded at 133%.>>

I don't think there is anything wrong with going against the grain as most wealth are made that way.

But I have a hard time agreeing with your focus on AMD. Yes maybe AMD is indeed very inexpensive, but so are hundreds of other stocks. Being so loaded on AMD exposes you to a disaster without significant potential for huge return. For AMD to get back to cash flow positive within the next 4 quarters, a lot of good things have to happen, which I don't think will.

Also last time AMD stocked zoomed from $7 level, it was in the midst of hyper growth high tech economy and buying frenzy fueled by a once in a life time dot com mania. Even if Hammer beats expectation like Athlon did (very unlikely), AMD needs a lot of help from the overall market and economy.
