A resounding "yes" from me on that one, OMD. I think it's fine. I am assuming, though, that your family has discussed earlier racial strife in the US.

One of my alltime favorite books, that was.

OMD,

My 13 year old is a total book worm. Sometimes I have to "ground" her from books to get her to accomplish anything other than reading.

I believe I was much the same way as she at that age. A great day for me was to sit out in the yard, under the big ole shade trees and read and read and read. A day well spent!!

I believe I was age 12 the first time I read Gone With The Wind. That might have been the beginning of my love for Civil War history.

<edit, this is post 1011.....and my 10011th personal post..edit again could not have done that if I tried...check the time!!
