But... but... that STILL doesn't tell me what people mean when they say, "She is a very spiritual person," or "I am a very spiritual person."

I have feelings I would call 'elevated' feelings that are associated with a sense of distance from the ordinary concerns of life, of serenity. Sometimes they arise from moments of awareness of nature, sometimes from poetry or music. Sometimes the feeling is associated with the acceptance of the (actually sucky) life cycle. LOL, that's a silly way of putting it, but I mean, seriously, with the realization sinking in deep that it's okay that death impends, in fact, better than okay, because after all, if all we creatures didn't take turns, we couldn't have children and grandchildren. Is that feeling what people mean when they refer to their "spirituality"?

This is a serious ontological question, and I'd be interested in anyone's personal comments.
