Dolinar,

Here's a scathing rebuttal to the White House's arrogant document:

msnbc.com

Also, Richard Reeves doesn't mince words:

RICHARD REEVES: "America's War on Terror -- And History" (Date = Sept. 20, 2002)

Quote: "The Bush administration's declaration, "The National Security Strategy of the United States," stands as one of the more amazing, depressing and self-deluding documents ever written by the governors of the land of the free and the home of the brave. It is, in fact, too American by half, reading more like the warning cry of crazed missionaries than the reasoned or tolerant arguments of a free and democratic people........ It is a very depressing document, describing a dark, stormy view from a slightly hysterical White House ready to declare war on both the world and reality.."

It is quite a predicament. But the important thing is that the document puts forth a coherent vision of an American role in a changed world, a world where "weak states like Afghanistan can pose as great a danger to our national interests as strong states" - a world where a mere handful of fanatical terrorists showed they could kill as many Americans as the Imperial Japanese Navy did at Pearl Harbor.

Reduce this problem to your own home and family. What would you do to protect your home/family? The magnitude of the problem is immense.

One must remember that in Muslim countries a Father can and does cut the head off his own daughter if it is simply believed she was raped. This just happened recently when a Daughter was thought to have been raped by her Uncle. Now remember, nothing happened to the Uncle! The autopsy showed the girl was still a virgin yet their society praised the father for upholding the "honor" of the family.

I for one applaud President Bush and his "stick". If you think you are not sleeping at night our President has a very large "home" and a very large "family" to protect.
