>> well, my opinion is that Israel would only do it for real peace, which is out of reach for now. <<

this is israel's own fault. most of their problems they have brought on themselves.

>> educate me then. why turn down the best deal that the Palestinians are ever going to see? <<

obvioulsy the terrorists feel that terrorism is working and they will get a better deal by continuing to fight. at the very least they feel they can get as much as was offered before, so there is little to lose.

>> I do think that the core reason has little to do with Israels terrible things and more to do with the Arab intolerance and core beliefs that infidels don't deserve to live on holy land <<

you could make the very same argument about jews, who would argue that God promised them the land, not the arabs.

>> The US is using Israel and Israel is using the US. <<

just exactly what use is israel to the united states?

>> As the military/economic superpower, we must involve ourselves <<

well to take a recent example--the british empire, i would say that strategy didn't work out so well for them. why will it work for us?

>> We must make the world a civilized and safer place <<

pre-emptively attacking sovereign states for no justifiable reason does not make the world more civilized. it only serves to make it more chaotic. the united states ought to take a hard look at its own moral compass rather than stomping around the globe on moral crusades.

>> On its current course, the Middle East could very well implode <<

the only reason the conflict in the middle east threatens the security of the united states is because we cannot take a balanced approach in the arab/israeli conflict. we cater and cow to israel and they use our backing to continue with their oppression of arab peoples. the arabs know this and it pisses them off, hence arab terrorism directed towards america. discontinue our unabashed support for israel, remove US troops from the region, and the instigation for terror is removed. simple.

>> You probably saw the report done by Arab intellectuals who condemned their societies as repressvie regimes holding back their society. They don't translate books from other languages, they don't innovate, they don't have free speech or an open media, they are just not productive or desirable societies <<

so what? why should america care that these societies are backwards? there are many backwards societies around the world. always will be. some cultures are just not suited for democracy and republican government. americans should focus total attention on how to improve our own society, rather than trying to dictate to the arab world how to reform theirs.

>> My point is that Israel IS productive. Israel does have an open media and free speech is allowed. <<

i think you have a lot to learn about israel!

>> We are supporting a country whose values are similar to ours <<

totally false statement!

>> yes, Jewish influences and Christian influences and Muslim influences and Asian influences and everything else. that is a good thing <<

not quite so fast! you just throw in jewish influence as if it is just a small part of the sphere of influence. now tell the truth. it is an OVERWHELMING amount of influence in this country. furthermore, it is a deceptive influence, because most americans are not aware of the extent of jewish influence. most americans can't even identify who is jewish, so they can't make an accurate assessment of the influence.

>> This argument by Arabs that Jews control our media and bias everything to Jews is sad <<

you don't have to be an arab to make the argument. plenty of americans have made this very argument and even some jews brag about this influence. last time i checked henry ford wasn't an arab. neither was charles lindbergh. same for billy graham and richard nixon. what do they all have in common? they spoke of the powerful and dangerous influence jews held over america. i will be happy to provide direct quotes if you like.

>> yah, and Jews were told ahead of time not to go to work at the trade center on 9/11... <<

i think there is plenty of evidence to suggest that israeli spies in america knew in advance of the 9/11 attacks on the wtc. that would probably account for the fact that not one single israeli citizen died in the trade center attacks. (there was one israeli citizen on one of the planes). i guess it was just a coincidence that there were no israeli casualties in the single greatest center for world finance, brokerage activity and trade.
