Speaking of 'Hill,' one of my favorites is King of the Hill. We switched from The Simpsons (I mean I did; N wouldn't watch Simpsons, but likes K of the H), when a friend (friendly acquaintance; we were just getting friendly when they moved from NY to H'wood) of ours, Richard Appel, moved from The Simpsons to King of the Hill. Many of the writers of the Simpsons and K of the Hill are, like Richard, Harvard grads. (He left a law practice when induced by fellow Harvard grads to join the Simpsons.)

I guess it's not an accident that those shows seem so smart, sometimes.
