His criteria for buying EDS is about as solid as his criteria for buying ORCL. Not that I think there's any similarity between the two companies or their likely outcomes, but the evident lack of rigor in his previous post pretty much tells the story.

My belief is that EDS cannot sustain the dividend, and their horribly-timed put sales may very well have put the company into a death spiral, in which the more the stock declines, the more the company owes on the puts, so the more it will decline again.

Unlike Enron, I believe the company can survive, but question whether there will be much equity left.

Herb Greenberg's been pulling their financials apart and writing about quality of earnings issues for months. It all comes home to roost.
