Paul, after giving this AMDF product some renewed thought (having dabbled with it myself in the past), it again seems to me that large customer premises demarcation point administration could benefit from its use, as well. Units with smaller footprints in most cases, of course, than those that would be used in the CO, but basically doing the same things. Have you come across this application in the literature at all? Years ago, we attempted to automate the telco hand-off to a large brokerage firm's voice infrastructure, but the labor unit within the building had some radically different ideas on the subject. It seems that the metallic x-bar matrix switch that was installed to pilot the idea kept running into the strangest kinds of troubles. FAC
