What I as a citizen did or didn't have a problem with is not germane to the discussion. The agreement between parties and nations was that we would drive Saddam out of Kuwait.....period.

There were Congressional restrictions on using special ops for that purpose back then. They have been in place since the 1970's. Using the CIA or military to covertly knock off a foreign head of state was not permitted. I don't recall the details but I am sure someone around here does.
