Pollack's way is whole hog, but done with tact. That is, a full-scale US military invasion, done with as much overwhelming speed and force as possible in order to complete it quickly and thoroughly, followed by a major US-led postwar reconstruction effort that would help retroactively justify the invasion by showing how it produced good consequences. All this would be accompanied, however, by lots of strenuous diplomacy and focus, so that others would be coaxed along and not just bullied. That is, he'd make full use of the iron fist of US hegemony, but cloak it in a nice velvet glove--something this administration seems constitutionally incapable of doing. tb@liberalimperialistsRus.com
