Great quotes, MD. I don't personally have too much of an issue with people voting for candidates they believe will put a bit more coin in their pockets.

Then again, if the capital gains tax were eliminated; income tax reduced to a flat 10% across all of what were formerly called 'tax brackets'; a massive public auction of government land holdings and certain institutions to private industry and the public conducted; and a wholesale trimming of the governmental bureaucracy undertaken...I'd bet that politicians would be have to do far more to win votes than merely promise to throw their constituency a few crumbs here and there. And American voters might broaden their political decisions beyond exclusively considering where candidates stand on taxes.
