All told to Leslie Stahl by a youngish female Israeli intelligence colonel speaking fluent English, who handled herself well. Indeed she did... Much of this information isn't exactly new to folks like you and I who follow the subject.. But it's likely new for most of the American public. What I really gleaned from it is that the Israelis are making a statement that they have sufficient evidence against both Iraq and Iran to warrant their OWN "pre-emptive" actions, should the US fail to act against Saddam. For the Israelis, those documents are the equivalent of "9/11" style evidence.. Evidence of direct and indirect support for hostilities to be waged against Israel.. In other words, were it the US in possession of documents officially stating that Iraq had told Al-Qaeda to conduct terrorist attacks against it, we wouldn't be waiting for a UN resolution. Congress would have already issued a declaration of war and we'd be marching through Baghdad already and preparting to do the same to Tehran. But the Israelis? No.. they are forced to "restrain" themselves because they know the UN will do nothing with regard to issuing a UNSC resolution condemning Saddam's or Iran's support for the violence in the region. Something folks should ponder the next they try and argue that Israel is the source of all evil in the region.. Btw, there's a rumour that Sharon has Israeli SpecOps operating in Western Iraq looking for SCUDs.. Order there personally by Sharon without official US knowledge of the Op. Hawk

now 60 Minutes is doing a story on Saudi fathers kidnapping their American daughters. Btw.. that was just a heart-wrenching story about American women/children who have been kidnapped by their Saudi fathers. I couldn't believe that US embassy personnel were willing to kick out US citizens from their embassy, despite their pleas for assistance in leaving the country... After all, an embassy is supposed to be treated as US territory and when is the last time a US citizen been prevented from entering the United States... I hope that story embarrassed the hell out of the State Department.. It sure didn't make any points for the Saudis with regard to their propaganda campaign... err.. public relations effort directed towards Americans. Hawk
