Delivering the control of hundreds of billions of dollars worth of western economic and technical output to those ignorant *ssh*les is insane. And if Bush cared half as much about this country as he does about kissing up to his oil company buddies, here and overseas, we'd have had a $1 per gallon import tax within a week of the September 11 attacks.

Oh,no, who do you think is the biggest buyers of SUVs? And since 9/11, you don't think these people fly anywhere. Besides, there is so much oil in the world per D.Ray, why bother to conserve.......someone has to use it up.

Dan, if 19 crazed Americans hijacked Saudi airliners and crashed them into Mecca, do you think every American ought to pay for it?

Like I said, I share your views, but I think your proposed solutions are a little extreme. Besides, if we stopped buying Saudi oil and started putting a tariff on all imported oil, we'll probably cripple our economy and hence our global influence. And Saudi Arabia will just sell their oil elsewhere, especially China.

Dan,

You know that's never going to happen. How about a more realistic plan on dealing with Saudis? I share your concern about them, but I am not sure how the US should deal with them.
