Hi there ts,

Can you tell us about the general feeling on the part of your countrymen about the possibility of the US attacking Iraq? Are most of them as opposed as you? We're pretty torn up about it here, despite what you read on SI.

All we hear about is Blair's shoulder-to-shoulder sentiment.

<< The only senior member of the Bush administration with an honourable military record is Gen. Colin Powell >>

Perhaps you don't consider the SECRETARY OF DEFENSE a senior member? (He's senior in every way!) Or how about the DIRECTOR OF HOMELAND SECURITY, a decorated Vietnam vet? Or Tommy Thompson? Or even Condi Rice and Dick Cheney, both having had high-ranking, albeit civilian, jobs in the military? Fact is, all of them, including G.W. Bush, have "honorable" service records, something that was missing the eight previous years.

Facts.

Well, sh*t. The bar for becoming President just gets lower and lower.
Thankfully, we have not yet fallen to the level of Chamberlain.

Rest secure, thames. We're on the job. We won't let the Krauts eat you.
