Both Clinton and Bush (W) had intelligence about OBL and al Qaeda. Both were blindsided. The world was blindsided. Saying that Clinton, or Gore, or Bush, or anyone, could have prevented 9-11 is a pure waste of focus and energy, IMO.

The country was less behind an invasion of Afghanistan during Clinton's years (and in Bush's first few months) than it is behind an invasion of Iraq now, by a large margin. Bush wasn't exactly itching to get Osama on 1/21/01. So I agree, Clinton's failure to invade is hard to criticize.

The Clinton blow job fiasco is silly. It's as though most of the right has never heard of, nor received one. Get over the titillation, please!

Most of the right, center, and left have never raised their right hand, taken an oath to tell the truth, and then lied because it was convenient to do so. Some have, undoubtedly, but most haven't. Most of the right, center, and left have probably heard of a BJ, and have also not forgotten the receipt of one. And when one is the head of the country's legal system and swears an oath to faithfully execute the nation's laws, lying under oath is kinda a big thing. The titillation merely adds another cylinder of dimension to the whole issue. <g>

All right, so I'm in pitbull mode. :-)

Well it wasn't obvious to me it was Krauthammer. :-)
Well, gee, it was right at the start of the article (almost). Would you like it in red and bolded? :-)

I wasn't criticizing Willie for BJs. I was criticizing him for wag-the-dog. He had no use for the military, it seemed, except to kill them when they could provide a useful distraction.

OK. Bush didn't get on OBL when he took office. OTOH, OBL hadn't done anything yet on his watch. He had on Clinton's.

how to deal quickly and effectively-- with an eye toward the long term future of our country's reputation and integrity-- with the threats posed by Saddam Hussein and religious zealots who are massing weapons of mass destruction.
So you're ready to invade Iraq?
