re 310,000 represents a 21% marketshare

percentage of new adds is share of market churn and growth ... not marketshare. Given the 5:1 ratio of churn to growth, the percentage mostly represents percentage of churn. Is that good? What is KTF's marketshare?

Not to confuse ... hopefully. Trevor

To add to slacker's scoops on Korea sub additions, from GS this morning:

The Korea Herald reported preliminary CDMA wireless subscriber
statistics for the Korean market for the month of September. Overall
gross adds totaled 1.3M, which was up from 1.0M in August, 0.8M in June,
and 0.8M in the year-ago period. The strongest growth was reported by
LG Telecom, which had gross adds in excess of 0.4M (versus average
monthly gross adds 140,000) and attributed its success in September to
the introduction of a new lower rate plan. While we await details
regarding 1x additions, we anticipate continued healthy 1x handset sales
given the overall gross add strength and the fact that virtually all
new adds in Korea are on 1x. To put the Korean numbers in perspective,
gross adds total 8.46M year-to-date, which are 1.2M higher than at this
point last year. QCOM currently trades at 7x C'03 sales and 25x C'03
EPS. We reiterate our RL rating.<i/>
