> China Syndrome Eating Japan's lunch

China's economy still complements Japan's, and Asia business experts say it will be five to 10 years before China's firms can design the most advanced products. And some of Japan's leading firms are rediscovering their world-beating dynamism. Once wary of trade pacts,

At present I think this is somewhat an Apple vs Orange debate. Since it appears China strength is in cheap mass produced products which Japan gave up on decades ago and moved most of this production to S.E. Asia. Japan for a long time has shifted it's economy toward a more high tech higher premium production. So I don't know if this is even a valid debate.
