The day after that night in 1991 when CNN's Bernard what's his name (Shaw?) was cowering under the table in that Baghdad hotel in 1991 while the sky rained bombs, the market surged forward a lot. But generally it goes down early on. The only reason it didn't then was because war was inevitable and the market had gone down before hand. Here, as is usually the case, people think war is not inevitable, so the full effect downwards may not yet be priced in.
