re monarchy / dictatorship:

Not every situation is "enslaved"...nor are people "put in jail"... you picked the "worst of the set", let me pick "the best of the set" :

lets take a different set of examples, shall we ? :

Monarchy : Monaco, Nepal, UK (the Queen of England also happens to be the Queen of New Zealand and Australia - local policies & politics is a 'delegated activity', with the Governor-General as the Queens representative).

Dictatorship : lets take Pakistan as an example. Most of their citizens there favor it. Why would you or I want to change it ? Its their country. Its their choice.

And then, theres countries like China, that have 1/3 of the worlds population, and I personally dont know where to place their government. But - Its their choice. If they want change they have to make it happen...

In all of the examples above, none of these countries, being part of the "international community" aka UN, ought to be prejudiced against being part of a subset of UN.

cheers, kumar

I am very happy living in a real monarchy where the Prince has near-absolute power, unlike UK's soi-disant monarchy. Believe it or not, we are not enslaved. There are no economic problems, neither are there any political problems. There is no crime. To top it with creme, there is 320 days of sunshine per year and the beaches are great :)

Wanna see how happy we are? Come down to Monte-Carlo (Monaco) one day. Or read about it. Or watch it in the next Formula 1 race next year.

Not that I am defending monarchy over democracy as a system. Just making the points that:
1) People CAN live happily under a monarchy
2) Your sarcasm ("Enslaved people are always happy", "Happy, hungry Cubans") is rather shallow
