Teledesic kicked around for several years from one group of technology partners to another trying to find a technology platform/product mission that made economic sense. The basic feasibility of putting satellites into orbit was tenuous before the Internet bubble crashed - afterward it makes no sense at all. Maybe new technology and delivery systems will evolve that change this but I don't think that looks likely anytime in the next twenty years.
