You modified the issue. Before it was what would the college have to allow. Now it's what is a professor obligated to do. The concept of academic freedom is in conlict with the concept of a free exchange of ideas.

But my view, not authoritative, is that as long as you present fairly the range of alternate views in sufficient depth that students who want to learn more about those views have sufficient knowledge that they exist that the students can go research them on their own, you're entitled to choose your own materials. But are you entitled to choose a Zionist text for your course in the History of the Middle East and not mention that there are any conflicts over the issue of the right of Israel to exist or whether Israel is acting inappropriately toward the Palenstinians, then I think you violate your obligations as an educator, even though the proponents of academic freedom would say that's your absolute right and as long as you have tenure you can't be sanctioned in any way for teaching that way.
