"This is business... not a charity ward."

You dont seem to get what I am saying. There is no charity here. Pure and simple "I need to look out for myself".

Let me try again.

If I were msft, I would think "I want Windows to dictate the PC market and not the chips. If Intel is the only player, they determine the price of the PC. It intel dominates the PC market, I lose of billions of dollar by having to lower the price for the software (Assuming the there is only a fixed amount of money to spend). Beside Intel likes Linux too and they would like Linux to succeed. By not investing money in seeing AMD successful, there is more to lose".

Regarding Dell, how do you think Dell will come out and threaten to use AMD processor, if AMD fails ? Isn't there more to lose for Dell by seeing AMD fail ?

Hope you get my point now.

Maui.
