Well it doesn't make sense to sit around and wait for the next 9/11. In every other war we have been involved in we got to them before they could bring it here. In the old days we were a little sleepy geopolitically but 9/11 shows that in these assymetrical times we cannot afford that luxury of being invited to help. There are those that still think to this day that FDR all but invited Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor. It was no coincidence that all the carriers were out to sea. The ships lost in the harbor were obsolete. JFD
