Is it wrong to roll through a stop sign? What if you can see for miles in each direction? Laws are brainless rules that don't make judgements.

They are in the best cases crude consensus-based attempts at setting a threshold. The criminal code includes things that aren't clearly right or wrong. What about the Tax Code? Even worse.

Laws tend to be formed quickly and frequently have a reactionary character. Someone perceives a problem, never does any root cause analysis yet that same person will be sure that a law is needed and will go ahead and implement one. In the worst case, someone wants to preserve their supremacy and implements a law to protect it.

Well, sometimes the law is ahead of society.
