<<If I don't like my pay, I have to go find a new job, why should longshoremen be any different?>>

I couldn't agree more.

<<What special skill do longshoremen have, besides belonging to a union, that merits a pay of 100K/year?>>

Judging by the one I saw interviewed on CNBC they certainly don't have much in the way of verbal skills.
Intellectually speaking I would have placed the fellow about one and a half standard deviations below the mean.

My guess is that he rode the short bus to school, now he's driving our economy to the brink.

Why isn't the biased national media reporting on their salaries??? Oh yah, right because they are busy keeping people brainwashed about the true economic state of the country/world. LTBH still works, keep dollar cost averaging into long term equity positions.

Did you see the recent Richard Russell piece?

Habbit: ok so you didn't say it specifically. you just reek of it. to answer your question I don't profess to know what a longshoreman skill entails it does sound like hard work. but why should I or you care if someone is being paid his or her worth. let them raise costs to an extent that another competitive entity emerges. or do you prefer fascism and collectivism.
