This article says that a new study indicates that 2 to 3% of the population shouldn't be eating wheat.

I knew someone who was diagnosed with a wheat allergy a good fifteen years ago. Giving up wheat cured her of all sorts or chronic problems.

I would not be at all surprised to find that a lot of our general ailments are a function of diet. When you have a severe reaction, like she did, you eventually get to the root of it. But if you just have some headaches or some lethargy, you don't take action and never discover that you have no business eating mushrooms or wheat or whatever. I pretty much eliminated headaches by changing my diet. That was fifteen or twenty years ago. I never would have discovered that had I not changed my diet for another reason. It was pure serendipity.
