scoot-

the best way to enjoy the balloon fiesta
would be to volunteer to be on one of the crews.
i can help get you one of those jobs if you ever
decide to come.

soaring. i never did any... other than a lot
of dead stick gliding while teaching forced
landing procedures... but a sailplane has to
be the purest and most spiritual form of flight.
no engine noise. maybe include hang gliders in
that. go for it. you'll love it.

also, flying lends an added dimension
to your perception of the world. because of all
the flying i've done, wherever i am, i always
have an overhead view of the surrounding geography
playing in a backroom in my mind. the world is a
small place - it would be impossible for me to
ever be "lost".

i have a huge world map mural on my living room
wall (8' by 12'). it's been there for 16 years.
it's burned into my psyche over the years.
world events, cultures, news... they all are integrated
with the geography and topography. when i read or
watch a news event happening somewhere in the world
my focus targets on that part of the map.

sometimes i can spend a couple of hours just looking
at web cams around the world:

i'm looking down on praha right now. it's getting
dark. i can just barely see neil walking into a pub
for a pint. <g>
