I was talking about physical danger not cultural danger. I would not support the idea of an attack on Iraq if the danger was thought to be Iraq's cultural influence. Esp. because the attack is unlikely to stop the cultural influence. I would not support an attack that is so likely to fail.

I said I would have supported taking the communists out in the Soviet Union in say 1950 if it would have been easy reasonably safe to do so (and of course it would have been neither). This is just based on the practical results. If it was easy and simple and safe then the invasion simply would have made the world a better and safer place.

Sodom and Gomorrah? I know that there are people who think that living in part of the country I live in comprises a devotion to sin. It is a surprise to them that a nice Christian can stand it. They'd suspect that you might not be a Christian at all. And that bothers them. They wouldn't mind anything bad happening to you because who you are bothers them and they think their God agrees with their assessments through His good words. He's just punishing you for your wickedness and you deserve it for your lack of devotion.

There are some people in the U.S. who would have to take up arms if an outwardly homosexual couple moved next door. I'm sure it would upset them. In my world view, that doesn't rate a yawn. In fact, gay neighbors are probably more likely to be good neighbors. But to be honest, I wouldn't know. Never thought about it enough to canvas the neighborhood to find out who is coupling to/with what/whom. How is any of THAT my business unless it involves minors or is done against any party's immediate will?
