Money's not the problem. Confidence is the problem.

Spontaneous combustion in the stock market could occur at these levels, and it would cure a lot.

And there is no excuse for sitting on that investor tax package, maybe its just symbolic but something needs to be done.

Who is sitting on it? The fact is that Senate Democrats are playing deficit hawk right now because they think Bush is vulnerable on the now gone surplus. They are claiming that the surplus vanished because of the tax cut passed last year and though they surely know that's complete BS, they figure it's good for votes. They milk it further by claiming that it was a tax cut for the rich - you know, all those greedy CEOs who stole everyone's money. Joe Biden, in a senate hearing where he was asking Henry Kissinger and Madeline Albright their views on Iraq and saying all the right we're behind the president on this things, closed by saying that if we are going to fight this war on terror, the President must realize that we can no longer afford the tax cuts - the implication being that he wants them repealed. Do you think a new package that changes dividend taxation or increases the deductibility of losses would stand a chance in the democrat-controlled Senate?

Perhaps we'll all be pleasantly surprised come election day and find a change of control in the Senate. Either that or hope that the tax-hike talk is just campaign season rhetoric.

Lizzie,re:"larry Kudlow". These guys have been on drug,
only more 'drug'(money) can save their soul. There's way
too much money in the system, just some of these people
never have enough, that's the problem.
