There are many bad things, even horribly bad things that don't violate the constitution, esp. in cases like taxation where a specific ammendment to the constitution was made to allow these things.

If you are looking for support for tax cuts you can count me on your side but only because high taxes are unjust and have negative consequences not because they violate the constitution.

I don't like the idea of twisting the constitution to mean whatever I want it to mean even if doing so might get rid of a bad thing or allow a good thing to happen.

Tim

A populace is required to exercise sense in a democracy. If that sense will not protect them, nothing will. But the same is true regardless of the form of government.
