research Union Carbide, in India.

What about it??.. It was an an INDIAN CORPORATION. The company was 50.9% owned by the US parent Union Carbide, Inc 22% owned by the Indian Government and some 28% owned by Indian citizens... It was also built, managed, and staffed by Indians, NOT AMERICANS.

As the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit found in January 1987:

"the plant has been constructed and managed by Indians in India. No Americans were employed at the plant at the time of the accident. In the five years from 1980 to 1984 although more than 1,000 Indians were employed at plant only one American was employed there and he left in 1982. No Americans visited the plant for more than one year prior to the accident, and during the 5 year period before the accident the communications between the plant and the United States were almost non-existent."

Thanks for the suggestion about researching that... I recalled that the courts had found that no Americans were responsible for the physical disaster.. but since the US parent corporation owned just a tad over the majority percentage of stock, the Indian government and media tried to claim the US was responsible..

Indian Imperialism??
