Yes, punctuation IS important.

My first job out of university was working for someone who I had little respect for (but student loans NEED to be paid off), and one of my co-workers, who was of the same opinion, used to forward memos to this manager with FY,I on the top.

I ask what the deal was with the comma, since I didn't think it applied.

He smiled and told me that the 'I' stood for idiot, and I should be able to figure the 'F' and the 'Y' out myself...
