And, considering current domestic politics, that is not feasible. Ain't gonna happen. It was perfectly obvious years ago when Israel started settling the West Bank that it would lead to something like this. Israel would either end up in a position where it had to pull back- -or it could exterminate the Palestinians. We're there. And neither option seems feasible. Maybe given time the Israelis will integrate the Palestinians into their population and ease the pressure that way. This being a religious issue, I doubt that, though.

The US should have told Israel when they first announced their intent to settle the West Bank that we would abandon them if they did.

But from the Israeli POV, it makes sense to force the Arabs to fight the next war on what was their land.

Domestically, the Israel Lobby will target any politician that advocates abandoning Israel or even taking an even handed approach in the ME. Like the AARP, you cross them at your peril.

So all of us end up stuck on this rock.

Your approach seems infeasible to.
