QH:

"Lets see how good a contrary indicator your perma bear attitude is."

You're not trying to start a food fight, are you? I take those words "perma bear" and "contrary indicator" very seriously. :^-) Them's almost fighting words. I'm a perma-nada, just a guy trying to analyze what's really going on, not what I hope and pray will bail me out.

The most "perma" attitude here has been your perma-bull attitude on the OSX, full of sound and fury, hope and prayer and, so far, still full of sound and fury and hope and prayer. To be even half invested in energy here, let alone fully invested or into margin is, imho, dangerous financial planning.

I mean, look, each trader has a right to find profits in his own way, but you have to admit there has never been one moment, Dr. Pangloss, that energy hasn't been a great story and on the verge of a major rally in your mind. The reality has been quite different. Look at the OSX, amigo:

Now, flip back and forth between the OSX chart and this margin message:

"If it's only 10 percent, we've dodged a bullet," he said. "And 10 percent is a disaster. It could be 20 percent."
Its comments like this that keep me heavily invested and patient for this Winter.

Somehow or another this meandering around OSX 105 I find myself dipping into margin for some HC & NE. Now I have more HC than I am comfortable with, but I could not help myself. >>

Margin? Margin? To which one can only reply, even if silently, "holy shit."

I don't have time or energy to go through your ancient posts and find a neutral or short call on anything in the hydrocarbons. Are there any? I didn't think so.

The real problem with this thread, which I like quite a bit, is that it's an energy bull thread, not an energy thread. The world runs on black gold, so come here and be bullish or don't bother.

As for contrary indicators, let me just refer you to some July postings over on HTP and you go ahead and make your own decision.

Message 17786978

AND

Message 17788881

The rest of that particular sequence of postings on the thread might be informative as well, certainly better advice than going to margin at OSX 105. And note, as well, the forward looking comments to an August rally and a very nasty September/October right here, right now.

Now, I'm not a Slider where I feel you have to agree with everything I say, but "perma-something" and "contrary indicator."???

Like I told Gottfried over on HTP, I'll ring the bell again when we hit the bottom, but I can't be sure I'll ring it 6 times this go-round.
