There have been a whole pile of "people not to disregard" all the way over the top and down.

Stocks are priced at levels that cannot provide a return that is equal to the discounted future growth and dividends. Period.

Of course there will be sharp and even protracted bear market rallies. But to get on the long side now is just gambling that you have outguessed the current psychology of the market. Some people do this, but usually not for very long.

Don't misconstrue me as a morbid permabear. In 1982 I was 200% into the market--maximum margin and living on credit. Of course at that time all interest of any kind was deductible from one's income.
