LOL! Not in the least... The Beltway is a world of its own, nothing to do with the rest of the country, or taxpayer/citizens. These folks are talking among themselves. The closest they get to any real Americans is through bogus polls which often use the "push polling" method to achieve the results they want. I did minor duty in national politics, and the "insiders" in politics are every bit as insular and disconnected from real concern for the populace as the corporate insiders at Enron. Sure, there are a few who actually care and have a personal philosophy of public service, and brains enough to get through the minefield of lobbyists and special interests. But those are few and far between. An excellent book if you get a chance, "Dependent on DC" by C. Twight.
