Nice of you to be so cavalier about the murder of Americans. I guess if they were in Israel they had it coming, right?

That's interesting. I was pointing out there is a distinction between American and Israeli interests, and you accuse me of devaluing Israeli life. Please take that chip off your shoulder, Nadine. And is it really so unreasonable for an American citizen to place American interests before Israeli interests? God forbid, if an Israeli should place their own interests before American interests.

Al Qaeda is currently regrouping in Lebanon (they own Ein al Hilweh camp according to reports) in close cooperation with Hizbullah.

And al-Qaida is regrouping in Western Europe, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, possibly Iraq, and here, in the US. What we need to differentiate is whether any sovereign government is harboring al-Qaida with complicity (as the Taliban government did in Afghanistan).

This is like saying "No, no, you can't attack the whole nest of snakes -- you must only attack the snake who bit you."

Then may I suggest the Bush administration clearly define what "terrorism" is and who the "terrorists" are so that there may be a more effective and consistent (meaning less hypocritical) effort in tackling this issue. This administration also needs to define the scope of our war against terror and whether this would include all "terrorists" or only those who have directly attacked Americans. Otherwise, this administration is only pissing against the wind.

Since they began preventing Israel from doing the job. This data is the clearest sort of casus belli.

One of the most important functions of a sovereign government is the protection and security of its citizens. American troops protect American citizens and their interests. If, somehow, you perceive the Israeli government is inadequate in the protection or security of Israeli citizens then it is an Israeli issue, not an American one. And since the state of Israel has been on the greatest welfare program in the history of mankind (more than 100 billion dollars and counting), subsidized by American taxpayers, and defending the Green Line with America's most modern weapons, asking for American blood to defend Israel's security is... not really kosher.

Americans will defend Israel if her existence were in question but not while she is occupying and colonizing the West Bank for the good of Greater Israel.
