In fairness to Carter, he did try, and I remember being saddened and dissapointed when the mission failed, when the sand got into the helicopter engines, ect. Our mil spec forces took a shot and it didn't work. It was a very difficult mission from the get go, Including the fact that the Iranians had split up the hostages and were holding them in various different locations.

I dont think it can really be compared to what perot's mission accomplished.
